Letters Volume II

To Eugen Bohler

Dear Professor Bohler, 23 February 1956

I have just got back from the Tessin and found your letter.

I look forward to seeing you next Tuesday 28.II. about 8 o’clock.

Your dreams are very interesting.

As “contemporary” symbols of the opposites, the fishes have a tendency to devour each other if only they are left alone.

In the end you have no alternative but to take the conflicts on yourself by ceasing to identify now with one side and now with the other.

You become what happens in the middle.

Then you are in the flow, and for this you need the high heart of the warrior. . . .

I have spent my free time making a thorough study of the Evangelium veritatis of Valentinus.

It is not exactly an easy problem.

Meanwhile with kindest regards,

Very sincerely yours,

C.G. Jung ~Carl Jung, Letters Vol. II, Page 291.
