Letters of C. G. Jung: Volume I, 1906-1950 (Vol 1)

To J. Allen Gilbert

My dear Dr. Gilbert, 19 June 1927

Analysis is not only a “diagnosis” but rather an understanding and a moral support in the honest experimental attempt one calls “life.”

For the individual you never can know better or ahead.

You only can help people to understand themselves and to gather up courage enough to try and risk.

The invisible part of the work goes much further than whatever you can publish in a scientific journal.

You have got to leave room for the irrational factor, although you hate it.

Cordially yours,

C.G. Jung ~Carl Jung, Letters Vol. I, Page 47
