C.G. Jung Letters, Vol. 1: 1906-1950

To Antonios P. Savides

Dear Professor Savides, 13 January 1948

Thank you for your kind wishes for the New Year.

I must say I have some dark recollection of you, but it’s rather blurred.

An autobiography is the one thing I’m not going to write.

Such things are never quite true and they cannot be made true.

I’ve seen enough autobiographies in my lifetime and the essential things were lacking in every one of them.

The true things can be guessed from my scientific work, provided that the reader is bright enough to draw intelligent conclusions.

My best wishes!

Yours sincerely,

C.G. Jung ~Carl Jung, Letters Vol. 1, Page 489.
