[Dr. Jung’s “short” 3-6 hour walks at 63 years of age.]

To Edwin Schmid

Dear Colleague, 18 April 1938

I am doing excellently on your diet.

The “short” walks have already stretched out to 3-6 hours.

I can also go mountain-climbing again, which suits me fine. Yesterday I climbed about 8oo metres without difficulty, from 900 to 1700.

The heart is coping well, only the legs are a bit stiff afterwards.

Should I take only dextrose, for instance in tea and coffee?

l am scrubbing oil on myself with a hard brush.

I hope to get some sunbathing. Up there in the snow it was too cold.

I have also dug, spread manure, and set potatoes, and besides that have written a longish paper in English.

As you see, I am bursting with energy.

With very best thanks,

Yours sincerely,

C.G. Jung ~Carl Jung, Letters Vol. 1, Page 244.
