To Jakob Stahel

Dear Colleague, 17 March 1947

Cordial thanks for your friendly picture postcard and kind remembrances.

I have-touch wood!-only good to report.

I keep to my daily regime: two hours of scientific work in the morning, and in the afternoon a rest plus a visitor.

I now go for a walk twice a day for about 3/4 of an hour.

Things are already going a bit better, though not yet brilliantly.

On Thursday I go to Locarno, Hotel du Pare.

I am sorry you’re having such beastly weather, I walk in all weathers and am glad I can do it, thanks to your efforts.

I hope you are making a good recovery.

The rest will do you good too.

With best wishes, also to your wife,

Yours gratefully,
